Issues and Remedies in Inheritance Litigation

When all is not well in the family

Ideally, when a person dies, their family comes together and settles the assets of the estate peacefully. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. Siblings squabble. Long-lost cousins come out of the woodwork. Ex-spouses claim they’re entitled to everything. Issues and Remedies in Inheritance Litigation will discuss some common disputes that arise in estate litigation and offer suggestions on how to remedy them.

Aaron J. Foley, Peter J. Walsh, and Barry R. White of von Briesen and Roper, s.c will answer questions like:

About the presenters

Aaron J. Foley is an attorney at von Briesen and Roper, s.c. in Milwaukee, where he focuses his practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, business law, real estate and adult guardianship. Aaron values community service and is a volunteer guardian through the Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee’s GAIN project. The GAIN project connects cognitively disabled adults with a volunteer legal guardian to advocate for their care and well-being. He is the past President of the Board of Directors for Community Projects for Seniors, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of older adults in Wisconsin by providing activities and meals to individuals living in low-income housing. Aaron is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Bar Association.

Peter J. Walsh is an attorney at von Briesen and Roper, s.c. in Waukesha. He has extensive experience in estate and asset protection planning and inheritance litigation. His practice areas include estate and trust administration, estate planning, trusts and estates, long-term care planning, and tax. He earned his J.D. at DePaul University and his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida.

Barry R. White is a Shareholder in vonBriesen and Roper’s Litigation and Risk Management Practice Group in Milwaukee. Barry’s practice focuses on business litigation and commercial law. In his litigation practice, he represents a wide variety of businesses in commercial disputes, as well as a practice in fiduciary litigation and inheritance disputes. Although he enjoys taking cases to trial, Barry is a strong proponent of creative problem solving and seeks to find efficient and cost-effective solutions to his clients’ disputes whenever possible.
