Please join us for a conversation with Maureen O'Leary and Andrew Wilms to review important issues to consider when you are asked to serve as a Trustee. We will learn about ethical, legal and practical considerations in your decision to accept or decline. We will learn about legal duties when accepting appointments to serve as Trustee and investment considerations when mangaging trust investment portfolios. The discussion will also cover related provisions of the Wisconsin Trust Code and the Wisconsin Uniform Prudent Investor Act and will review Modern Portfolio Theory.

Maureen L. O’Leary is the President and shareholder of Willms-O’Leary, S.C., a trusts and estates law firm located in Thiensville, Wisconsin.  Maureen’s practice focuses largely on estate planning, estate and trust administration, business, and tax.  Maureen received her Juris Doctor degree with honors from Marquette University Law School and her undergraduate degree from Carroll College.  Maureen is a member of the Milwaukee Estate Planning Forum, the Milwaukee and Ozaukee County Bar Associations, and the Thiensville-Mequon Rotary. 

Andrew J. Willms is an attorney with over thirty years of legal experience in the areas of estate planning, charitable giving, corporate law, and taxation law.  Andy is of counsel to Willms-O’Leary, S.C. and is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. Andy has been recognized by both Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers attorney ranking services as one of America’s top estate planning lawyers. Mr. Willms is also The Milwaukee Company LLC’s President and Chief Executive Officer. The Milwaukee Company is a Independent Registered Investment Advisory firm with in excess of $600 million under management (as of December 31, 2018).  The Milwaukee Company provides wealth management services to individuals, trusts, investment entities and charitable organizations using tactical asset allocation strategies based on historical evidence, academic research and quantitative analysis.  Mr.  Willms oversees the management of client and regulatory compliance.  Mr. Willms is registered as an investment advisor representative, and holds degrees in International Economics and Business Administration.
